Wow, if you're looking for good Mexican food you should really try this restaurant. There can be a wait on the weekend, we went back on a weekday for lunch. The food, decor and the service were great!

First time visitor Located in cypress square plaza next to Trader Joe's so be prepared for potential terrible parking overall unless you make it at a good time when it's not so bad :) Family kid friendly group outing date night eat solo get food to go type of spot Server was friendly and provided recommendations and checked up on us a few times Large bar dining enclosed patio booths tables to meet all sort of sitting arrangements as you are sitting close to folks overall Food was hearty and on the pricier side but shareable. The dish I order I enjoyed the sauce more to add to my sides and the chilli relleno seems a bit thicker in batter so wasn't able to taste too much of the chili Complementary salsa and chips, had a nice zing to it Glad to have tried it out but also ok with not returning back immediately to meet my cravings but a fun spot to check out! Enjoy!

This is their new spot born from the little mom n' pop spot. They own both locations but the little spot which is just "El Zarape", is still closed for renovations. This new and beautiful location is more modern and trendy in the best ways. The bar area is huge where they serve the full menu. They have a pretty nice selection of tequila too. Luis is the best server ever! My fave appetizers right now are the ceviche, the taquitos, and the nachos. My staple dinner items are the carne asada, the chile verde, the enchiladas, and the fajitas. We've been eating at this family's restaurants for over 10 years. They're Mexican food is still some of the closest I've had to homemade. If you don't go, you're missing out.

Sal has outdone himself with this beautiful 2.0 version of the homey, family-kitchen feel of the smaller restaurant. This new space is fantastic. Various seating options are available that would be good for a group of any size, including booths for parties or 8-10, an outdoor patio and small 2-tops. As the community has come to expect, the service is still top notch, despite growing. The team takes a group approach to serving customers and ensuring everyone has what they need. The food is great. On a usual night, I get the taquitos and my husband gets a burrito of some kind. We always have left overs because of the generous portions. The tequila selection leaves nothing to be desired as well. It's not uncommon to wait on a busy night, so be prepared for that, but please go. Delicio!!

Visited on a Wednesday evening. No wait for 3 adults! If you visit during the weekend, expect there to be a wait! I had dined at the old location (Cypress) a handful of times and have been waiting to try the new location! Much more seating! Our waiter was super friendly! All food and drinks came out timely! I had the Cadillac margarita and Flautas! Highly recommend both! Can't wait to return again soon!

The food is just as good as at their previous location on Ball Road. The salsa is delicious and compliments the fresh chips. My son had the chili Verde plate and I had a combination plate with a chili Relleno and beef taco. The margaritas are nice and strong. They have a decent variety of tequilas. The service is stellar. Sal and his family take good care of everybody that comes into their establishments. The ambience is warm and friendly inside. They have a nice patio, which will be great in the warmer months.

New location and new building for El Zarape. They have a spot under renovation on Ball Road in Cypress but this one on Katella is great. Awesome vibes inside and very clean. The servers were always on top of it. And always had some fresh chips for us. Alright on to the food. I had the halibut served over rice with some roasted veggies and a mango salsa. The fish was moist and flavorful. It wasn't the best halibut I've had but it was good. The roasted veggies were probably my favorite part of the dish to be honest. Rice was well seasoned but a little clumpy. Not particularly unusual for restaurant rice. The shrimp fajitas were well flavored and cooked well. Can't go wrong with the steak or shrimp fajitas. Overall 4 stars. There might be a few things that can improve but you won't be disappointed in this spot.

The new location is so good. We were seated quickly outside for lunch on a Sunday after church without wait. I love their old location but since we moved this location is much better for us to go to. Plus it's near Trader Joe's! I have been on a taquito kick recently and these were crispy and delish with shrimp. The toppings on the side were nice. Mango margarita is a must. You can get it virgin for kids!

I was craving Mexican food so I decided to try this place for the first time for dinner! There was a little bit of a wait when I arrived but it wasn't long at all. Plus it's great that they have a text system so I was able to go shop around at Trader Joe's nearby until I got the notification that my table was ready. I ordered the enchiladas rojas with chicken and it didn't disappoint! The portion size was great. I only wish that the sauce was more flavorful. I really enjoyed the chips and salsa they brought out too, especially because the salsa was pretty spicy! Service was great and there was plenty of parking in the plaza. Overall, I'd come back again!
